5 Common Questions about Spouting

While our team are experienced in recommending Klass Fascia and other guttering and spouting products, we still encounter common misconceptions or misunderstandings when we work. This week for our guttering and spouting blog, the Three65 Spouting experts will be answering some of the questions we hear the most!

How often should I clean my spouting?

Normally, spouting and gutters will need to be cleaned at least twice each year. This is based on the average amount of leaves and debris that most spouting New Zealand wide is subjected to. For some properties, however, there’ll be a greater amount of debris and leaves that could potentially get inside the spouting, based on the types and number of trees you have. For example, pine trees shed constantly throughout the year, so you’ll need to be extra vigilant with your spouting.

How long will my spouting last?

High-quality gutters that are well-maintained will be able to last for at least 20 years, and in some cases will even be able to last for up to 30 or 40 years. The factors that influence this include the overfilling and wear and tear from storms that the spouting suffers, as well as the degree to which mould and mildew are allowed to gather inside the spouting. Making sure that you choose spouting made of high-quality materials – like all the products on offer from Three65 – is crucial to their life span.

I’m planning to paint my roof – can I get spouting to match?

You definitely can – for our Designer365 range of spouting and gutters, we can provide more than 20 different colours of metal to match or complement any shade of paint that you choose – you’re welcome to come and grab samples from us in person. That way, you can match these with paints when you get to choosing the exact colour you want to paint your roof.

Can my gutters be concealed?

Without doubt. Through Three65 Spouting, you can get rain gutters that are essentially invisible from the street, as they are angled inwards from the edge of your roof. These gutters are designed to still catch all rainfall and let it run down and away from your roof safely, and can be made from both PVC and steel. We recommend these for anyone who doesn’t want their gutters to be visible on the outside of their building – as such, we find these have been popular with both residential and commercial building owners.

How will my spouting hold up against NZ’s harsh climate?

When you purchase spouting from Three65, you can be sure that the product you buy has been specifically designed for the New Zealand climate, meaning that even in the winter months when rain is heavy and the wind is wild, you won’t need to worry about the chance of any issues with its attachment to your building. Furthermore, the high-quality steel and PVC that is used to make our spouting and gutters has been tested and will not cause your spouting to have issues – especially when maintained properly and kept clean.
